BARBERS FROM EARLIER DAYS

1929 "Peggy" (because of his artificial leg) in Jack Hall's Pool Room in Old Dawson.
1931 Albert Chistianson in home at 11th Street & Alaska Avenue barbered and sharpened saws until Army came in 1942. Bill Haenel later moved shop to an ex-Rolla house on 103rd.
Early 30s Milo Grubb on 102nd Avenue - blown out the shop window in Great Explosion Feb. 13, 1943.
Post 1943 Tom Hansen and one of his sons in a new shop where Grubb's had been.
Late 1940s Jack Richardson worked with Tom Hanson.
1948 Albert Campbell bought in with Milo Grubb and served apprenticeship. ***Too many barbers for a small town; Campbell bought Grubb out. That fall Frank Evans came onboard.
1950 Albert Campbell in new shop in Harry Brown's Pool Hall. Lloyd Bebendorf worked with Campbell for 4 months then gave up barbering. Gene Forrester from Fort St. John worked one year with Campbell and returned to Fort St. John to open own shop.
1953 "An Italian fellow"
1950s Vic Wilks and brother Walter. Tony Olenberg barbered with the Wilks brothers in Mile Zero Hotel. Sandra Goben set up shop in hotel later.
1955 "Frenchy" took over in the alamo Billiard Hall (Brown's Pool Room) after Malotte was by Brown (reason not stated).
1958 Garth Campbell apprenticed with his father in Bill Haenel's old shoip on 103rd.
